Prior to joining Dhir & Dhir Associates, Delhi, Amit was the Senior Associate with K Law, Delhi and Jurisperitus Law Offices, Delhi from January, 2013 to December, 2016. Prior to the above Amit holds experience of working with PRA Law Offices, Delhi and Titus & Co., Advocates. His practice areas include Banking & Project Finance, Projects & Infrastructure, Insolvency & Bankruptcy and General Corporate matters.
Illustrative Experience:
Amit independently advises banks and financial institutions (both public & private sectors) in financing of infrastructure and other projects and has executed various structured finance deals in the capacity of Lender’s Legal Counsel. The work profile includes inter-alia drafting, negotiation and finalization of loan documents, security documents, escrow arrangements etc, conducting corporate and land due diligences and issuing opinions on enforceability aspects. Amit has advised banks/asset reconstruction companies on reconstruction of financial assets by way of the issuance of security receipts and restructuring through other modes of disposal of assets under SARFAESI Act and other applicable laws. In addition to the foregoing Amit has hands of experience in advisory over insolvency matters including drafting of information memorandums, process memorandums, EOIs and other documents for inviting the resolution plans from the resolution applicants.
Amit regularly advises various corporates on banking and finance matters in the capacity of Borrower’s Counsel and assist in reviewing, negotiating and finalizing the loan documents, security documents, escrow arrangements etc. and holds substantial experience in infrastructure projects advisory including inter-alia drafting/reviewing of request for proposals, concession agreements, power purchase agreements, EPC contracts and other infrastructure documents.
In the course of his career with the legal firms, Amit has advised many fortune 500 corporations on general and transactional corporate matters including the transaction documents pertaining to private equity investments and other cross border matters. He has an experience of working on more than 20 fortune 500 corporations to his credit on the complex matters.
Amit is frequently invited by prestigious law institutes/colleges/other institutions as a guest faculty for lectures on transactional aspects of banking/finance.
Amit has been recognized amongst Rising Stars, 2022 by the prestigious Asian Legal Business, the Thomson Reuters Publication. The list includes the lawyers from the Indian legal industry who have been setting high standards in the young age and making an impact in the country’s legal market.
